About Tom
In my years of teaching guitar I have always taken great pride in my positive and encouraging approach to teaching. I like to create a relaxed, friendly learning environment for students where they feel comfortable and supported, especially when they're trying the instrument for the first time.
I like to tailor my lessons to the students musical preferences and goals, and lean towards creative use of technique and theory to help new musicians develop their own identity as guitar players as they learn and progress.

I'm a professional guitar tutor based in Birtley, Co Durham with over 10 years of experience offering one to one lessons both in person and online. All ages and complete beginners as well as more experienced players are welcome. I teach from a purpose built music room and take a fun, creativity focused approach to guitar playing.
Lessons are catered to the students needs and musical goals so whether you want to be able to play the guitar for fun or would like to pursue qualifications and grades as well I can put together the ideal group of lesson plans for you and we'll have great fun along the way!
