About Andessa
I am a professional performer trained in Musical Theatre. I gained a 3 year level 6 diploma in Musical Theatre at Leicester College of Performing Arts and since graduating in 2015 have worked as a professional performer in the industry. I have worked abroad in Kos and Mallorca as a Lead Vocalist. Played Annie in a touring pantomime and worked as a lead vocalist for Warner Leisure Hotels.
I have years of experience in teaching Performing arts, singing dancing and acting. I am looking to teach children of all ages to become the best singers they can be! I focus mainly on performance and musical/pop styles but can help students to build their repertoire with lots of different styles of music and song. I will also work strongly on technique and confidence in singing. Being a professional performer myself working in the industry I can help with audition technique and advice for drama schools and more! As well as working on these, I can also help with microphone technique.
I am happy to work with children on monologues for acting also and script work, as of course in song, acting and drama is incorporated to make the performance the best it can be. I am happy to choose songs for students which I think best suit their style, ability and range but also like students to come with their own ideas as to what songs they wish to work on once more confident. We will work together to achieve great results, whether the student is just wanting some fun lessons and to improve ability or they are taking singing seriously and wanting to move to the next level in their learning or prospective career.
I also play the acoustic guitar and am able to teach students basic beginner level guitar skills and chords. Personally I use my guitar as a singer and write my own songs/music for performance purpose. I also have a large repertoire of popular cover songs I can teach to students once they have learnt the basic chords. It's amazing how many songs you can play from just 4 simple chords in difference sequences. I am also happy to help students with their own songwriting too. I also have a spare guitar available for beginner students to learn on in lessons if they do not already have their own instrument. However I would strongly recommend during the progress of lessons that students have a guitar they can practice on at home in between lessons if they want to move forward with their learning.
I am based in the Leicestershire area and prefer to teach from home, however I am willing to travel to students if they are unable to get to me.
