About Sophie
I hold an enhanced DBS certificate, and undertake regular safeguarding training. I have been teaching for 25 years, and in addition to cello, have taught classroom lessons in secondary and primary schools, and am the musical director for a community choir.

I like to encourage pupils with a positive engaging style, and aim to foster a life-long love of music. I enjoy working on musical expression, phrasing and performance skills, all underpinned by solid technique on the instrument. Lessons are between 30 - 60 minutes, depending on stage of learning. I studied at the Junior Royal College of Music, Leeds and Cambridge universities, and now enjoy a varied performing life, playing with both classical and pop orchestras and chamber ensembles.
