I am a sympathetic, understanding and patient tutor. Take just one example. I set up the Photographic course at Aoraki Polytechnic in Timaru, New Zealand. One of the students, a little older than most, had severe eye problems - not great for a photographer. All his images were unsharp. We tried and tried to get it right. Week after week. We printed instruction books super A3 size so that he could see and make notes. Eventually we won. Now he takes Weddings with great success. He is still a good friend.
For the past 30 years I have run small group workshops at The PhotoWorkshop in New Zealand. Formerly Technical Manager at Nikon in London and taught Photoshop at the London College of Fashion. I have written two books on Photoshop.
I have found John to be a thoughtfull and resourcefull photographer, who will not rest before he has realized the picture he set out to make. As a tutor he has the one quality you wish in a teacher; patience. His years of experience will teach you, for one thing, that advanced technology does not equal vision. I recommend John warmly to whoever wishes to take his or her photography to the next level.
I met John when we both worked for Nikon UK where he was both technical manager and lecturer at the Nikon School of Photography. John is a good teacher with a warm down to earth way of communicating. He is an experienced professional photographer who loves to share his considerable knowledge.
