About Debbie
Music has been a fundamental part of my life since I began learning piano at a young age. I started performing early on as a church pianist, where I learned the importance of music not only as a form of personal expression, but as a way to serve and support others.
I find great fulfilment in both playing and teaching, and I am passionate about helping students build confidence through achievable goals—whether that is learning a favourite piece or developing stronger technical skills. Alongside teaching, I continue to refine my musicianship through professional work and training in musical theatre and ensemble settings. I tailor my teaching approach to suit each student’s learning style and musical interests, creating a supportive and structured environment that encourages progress and self-belief.
My aim is to provide students with the same confidence I was given as a child: that through guidance, discipline, and resilience, musical dreams are achievable no matter where you begin.

We will cover performance technique, aural skills, sight-reading, and music theory to build solid foundation and ensure all-roundedness. Classically trained under the tutelage of Raymond Clarke and Yukiko Osedo, my focus is on refining your musicianship.
Whether you are looking to advance grades or play for fun in your preferred music style (classical, pop/rock/jazz, worship, musical theatre, film, composition, etc), my aim is to inspire your love for music :)
To support students' growth, I incorporate Suzuki and Kodály methods especially when teaching primary and secondary schools (children from ages 5 to GCSE Music preparation).
I have experience teaching adult and SEN learners
Lesson lengths are 30, 45 or 60 minutes
I offer different syllabuses such as ABRSM or Trinity
I teach from home in Wood Street
