About Skye
I am a saxophone tutor with more than 8 years of experience teaching college students. My mission is to make learning saxophone enjoyable and rewarding. I focus on combining strong technical skills with creativity and musical expression. Every student is different, so I design lessons that match your pace, interests, and goals.
I use practical teaching methods, including real-life examples from popular music, jazz, and classical pieces. Improvisation and rhythm exercises are key parts of my lessons, helping students gain confidence in performance and self-expression. I also integrate modern tools like recording apps and play-along tracks to make learning interactive and measurable.
I pay special attention to building a solid foundation in music theory, reading sheet music, and understanding musical nuances. My teaching style is friendly, supportive, and goal-oriented, ensuring that students enjoy their learning journey while steadily improving.

I follow a student-focused methodology for teaching saxophone that emphasises flexibility, collaboration, and positivity. Each learner has a unique way of absorbing music, so I design lessons tailored to their pace, learning style, and goals using demonstration, listening exercises, and hands-on practice.
Flexibility ensures lessons evolve with student progress, motivation, and interests, keeping learning productive, engaging, and enjoyable. Collaboration encourages students to experiment with improvisation, actively participate, and share ideas, fostering creativity, skill, and confidence.
I cultivate a positive and supportive environment where achievements are celebrated, and challenges are embraced as opportunities to grow. Lessons cover saxophone techniques, improvisation, musical expression, performance skills, and theory for a comprehensive foundation.
Beyond saxophone, I teach sight-reading, ensemble performance, ear training, and music theory. My goal is to help students become confident, expressive, and versatile musicians.
