People learn by doing, so we can start with the pure basics. Swimming confidently is mainly about comfort in the water and knowing how to float well, so that's my main priority - being a strong swimmer is more important than a fast one. I also try to make sure my lessons are friendly and enjoyable, otherwise you won't learn as effectively.
I'm a former professional swimmer. While at my peak, I was told I might be able to attend the Olympics one day, but after an injury couldn't continue for long enough that I lost interest until a few years later. I'm also a partially trained life guard, and can help any swimmer either learn how or improve. In previously taught lessons, I've been able to get non-confident swimmers able to float and much more comfortable within just two hours.
