About Frances
- What kind of experience do you have?
I am a professional violinist with a full time orchestral job. I have been teaching privately for 13, and also have taught peripatetically at a school. I have experience with larger groups having been a tutor at a local special needs group, and taken part in outreach projects at schools around the country.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes.
- Where and with whom did you train?
I studied for my degree at the Royal Northern College of Music, and before that I went to the Purcell School and Royal Academy of Music Primary and Junior departments.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
I’m a member of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, and also of the Musicians Union

Violin
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have an upper second class Bachelor of Music degree with honours from the Royal Northern College of Music.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £40 an hour, £20 for half an hour.
- Where do you teach?
I teach at my home in Liverpool.
- When are you available?
I can teach during the week, or at the weekends.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
All ages. grade 3 to advanced.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I took the ABRSM exams, though I am happy to prepare students for the Trinity Guildhall exams if that is what they would prefer. I have experience teaching either. If you aren't keen on taking exams, that is also fine! Everyone is different! I can also prepare students for music degree auditions.
