You are the center of your curriculum. I am so over cookie cutter bass lessons acting like everyone should always know the major scale and a James Jamerson tune before anything else. If you're into motown, that's a great start, but if you're into metal and punk no way that's on the agenda! I view my job as understanding you as a musician, your wants, dreams, tastes, and creating a plan that drives you to THAT goal, not some ambiguous 'bass player' gauntlet that drives alot of lazy teachers.
I'm serious about music but like to have fun. I bring that mindset to each student.
