About David
David has been playing music his entire life and teaching others how to play for over 10 years. He has composed original scores for narrative projects with companies like Disney, ABC, and digital ads for MMI (subsidiary of Microsoft). He has trained vocally under Janice Pantazelos, an operatic vocal teacher who mentored instructors at prestigious schools like Juilliard. He regularly performs live shows for weddings, corporate events, private parties, and more. He runs a YouTube channel called Neylon Guitar which helps viewers simply master the fretboard through learning their favorite songs and developing techniques to build toward that fretboard mastery. He is a singer-songwriter with experience working with professional Broadway performers and has recorded vocals, guitar, and piano on over 100 projects. He has produced, mixed, and mastered 100's of projects for both himself as a music artist as well as other recording artists. He builds sound-tuned studios for home music studios as well as home theaters from scratch. He has established his own live event music company where he currently holds the role of Director of Music. His music students range in all ages from early childhood (as young as 6 years old), to the elderly (it is never too late to learn), and the blind.

With voice: breath work, muscle building and support are our main goals. You will start by building your support system within your body and developing the vocal muscles that will lead to healthy, long-lasting vocal technique. You will identify your vocal range and build tone through exercises and progress your creative style through learning how to sing your favorite artists' songs. The support you will build vocally with David will translate to any type of music you want to sing from musical theater to opera to pop and beyond.
The main through-line with each discipline David teaches is developing the connection to the MUSIC.

The first free lesson with David will allow you to get to know each other and clearly specify your needs for your next lessons.

Details
The ideal situation is that vocal lessons begin in person and then we can move to webcam sessions from there. 1 hour is the minimum session. We will begin with technique, warm ups and muscle & support building exercises and then move to creative expression with working on music of your choice. If you do not have any music in particular you want to learn, David will provide music to work on based on your current vocal development level.
