About Jacob
I am a keen and professional Drum and Percussion Tutor with 1 and a half Years of teaching experience. Having always been involved in music and the arts from a young age, I value the teaching of creative subjects extremely highly, and believe that all students should be given the chance to learn through music.
A number of my students are currently working towards their respective RSL Grade exams, whilst the others are developing songs and pieces for live performances.
I am an active member of the Leeds music scene, and spend my time working with a variety of bands, artists, and independent labels as a way to better myself and broaden my scope of playing, whilst acting as a role model for my students, as I am using my instrumental skills to forge a career.
I am also studying for a Teaching Diploma in Drumming with RSL, which is a voluntary qualification that allows me to develop my teaching skills and methods, whilst better myself in a specific field of learning.

My current students range from 6 years old to 66 years old! Whatever the age, there is always a starting point, be it basic rhythm, games, or sensory work, moving to more traditional Drumming and Percussion practices.
I am experienced in teaching one to one, group, and whole class lessons using a number of different methods and teaching techniques. This allows me to adapt lessons to students needs, whilst keeping clear and concise learning objectives focusing on playing, pulse, technique, musicality, instrument knowledge, and reading to name a few. I also have experience with teaching SEN pupils and planning lessons to suit their individual needs.
I aim to keep my lessons fun, but always challenging in order to push my students to better themselves.
