About Jules
Like so many others, I began college at 17/on the cusp of 18, completed my first degree, went out on my own ready to conquer the world....
Or not.... Not even two weeks into the summer vacation of commencement, I applied for graduate school, purely on a whim and barely a month and a half after that, I was jetting off to San Francisco, leaving everything and everyone I knew behind to begin a whole new endeavour.
It gets better!
Joining what was at the time a very small screenwriting program at the Academy of Art University is still to this day, what I'd credit as being the most invaluable, transformative experience of my life.
At all of 21 years old with barely a lick of life experience under my belt, I quickly realized first and foremost, how shockingly little information I actually knew but also, as I discovered soon after an opportunity.
Alone in a new city, on a new coast in a new country was frightening, yes, but it gave me room to explore, grow and figure out not only what I wanted but what it would take to get there, and in pushing myself day in and day out, I'm very proud to say I completed my program as not only one of the youngest but the first to do so within that timeframe in the history of the school.
Determined to not stop there, I hit the ground running and two and a half years after I graduated in the midst of a global pandemic mind you, I began remotely working for a production company headquartered in New York City as a writer, living a dream I always knew I wanted but only recently had the foresight to take a leap of faith toward.

Anyone who knows me and especially those who know me well know that I've always had a passion for storytelling - reading, writing and especially listening to stories that are born and bred out of the minds of children or those who are apathetic about English - take from that what you will.
Personally, I've always thought that what most people miss when they teach screen or any other forms of creative writing are the basics - the first and most profound principle of which I still stand by being that storytelling needs to be fostered not forced and in keeping that in mind, I always try and begin from a place of wanting to listen, cultivate the innate desire we all have to be heard and understood and let the narrative organically form from there.
