About Kacper
I am Kacper Jankowski, a young pianist from Leicester, and music has been at the centre of my life for as long as I can remember. Although I was born into an ordinary environment, my journey into the world of classical music began when I was nine years old. At first, the piano was simply an instrument I explored out of curiosity, but by the age of eleven, I began studying more seriously, which marked a turning point in my musical development.
As I grew, so did my passion and discipline. I continued refining my technique and deepening my understanding of interpretation and expression through dedicated study and performance. One of the defining moments in my journey so far has been reaching the semi-finals of the Wales International Piano Competition, an experience that challenged me musically and strengthened my confidence as a performer.
Music for me extends far beyond solo piano. I regularly perform for a variety of choirs, both senior and junior, experiences that have taught me sensitivity, listening, and collaboration. I am also the first pianist for the EMS Jazz Band, where I explore a completely different musical language through improvisation and ensemble playing. More recently, I have begun performing as a second percussionist for the EMS Senior Orchestra, expanding my versatility as a musician and deepening my understanding of orchestral texture and rhythm.
An important part of my development has been working closely with John and Roxanne Gull, who are remarkable teachers in Leicester. I began studying advanced music theory with Roxanne at the age of thirteen, which has given me a strong analytical foundation for both performance and composition. With John, I have developed key performance skills, including keyboard tests, conducting, and singing—skills that continue to shape me into a more complete and well-rounded musician.
Alongside performance, I am deeply interested in composition and musical leadership. Writing music allows me to express ideas beyond interpretation, and conducting has given me a broader perspective on how music functions as a whole. I also work in partnership with Leicester MusicFest as a patron, hosting recitals around Leicestershire and contributing to the local musical community. These opportunities have helped me connect with audiences and support live music at a regional level.
Looking ahead, I am preparing to complete my CRCO organ qualification, further developing my skills as an organist and church musician. I also aim to perform at more venues and continue growing both as a soloist and collaborative musician.
For me, music is more than a career aspiration—it is a lifelong pursuit of expression, discipline, and connection. Every rehearsal, performance, and new opportunity brings me closer to understanding both the art itself and my place within it.

I structure my lessons so that each person has fun, excels and overcomes challenges! I teach people that piano is a form of expression, not just playing the keys. I will teach your child how to play up to grade 8 level showing their dedication and I hope to excite your loved one about the joy music can bring.
