About Mateus
Hi!
I studied cello for 10 years, I started in the Guri Santa Marcelina project, joined the Municipal School of Music of São Paulo and then studied for a Bachelor's Degree in Cello at Unesp, which I am graduated today. During this period I had a great professional experience playing in several orchestras in São Paulo, chamber music groups and solo concerts. I participated in music festivals where I could have contact with great musicians and learn a lot! Especially the 1st festival of contemporary and popular music in Campos do Jordão. I was also one of the few selected for the Digitales Mentoring-Programm NEUE MUSIK promoted by the Goethe Institute (Germany) where I take classes with Dirk Wietheger cellist from the Ensemble MusikFabric. I have been giving private and group classes since 2018 and since then I have been perfecting the way to provide those who are interested in music with a contact that allows new ways of observing Art as a whole, but also allows this person to find their world with the music.

Classes are tailored to the student's personal interests using methods such as Suzuki, Feuillard, Dotzauer and Duport. The functionality of the classes will be dictated according to the personal pace and objective of each student, whether as a hobby or professional.
However, always with the focus of providing each student with more than just playing the instrument, providing a critical sense of what is played and heard, thus being able to develop other aspects that music and art address.
Graduated from Unesp with a BA in cello, I play in the Academic Orchestra of Unesp as head of section, selected for the Digitales Mentoring-Programm NEUE MUSIK of the Goethe Institute (Germany) and also attended the Municipal School of Music of São Paulo.
