About Rhea
I have 8 years of experience teaching programming to learners at various levels, from high school to university and professional students. I hold a B.Sc in Computer Science and an M.Sc in Software Engineering, which provide both theoretical depth and practical application expertise. This allows me to explain complex programming concepts clearly and effectively.
My teaching philosophy emphasises active learning, critical thinking, and adaptability. I create lessons that encourage experimentation, problem-solving, and independent reasoning, while providing structured guidance and support. Students learn to understand why their code works, rather than just memorising commands.
Outside teaching, I engage with new programming tools, frameworks, and emerging technologies. Bringing real-world examples into lessons keeps them relevant and engaging. Watching students transform from hesitant beginners to confident coders is profoundly rewarding. Supporting learners in mastering programming logic and applying it creatively remains my primary motivation.

My lessons cover Python, Java, C++, algorithms, data structures, object-oriented programming, and software development principles. I focus on conceptual understanding, encouraging students to think critically about coding, problem decomposition, and optimisation strategies. Hands-on exercises, real-world projects, and guided debugging sessions allow learners to apply concepts while building confidence in their coding abilities.
Lesson structure is tailored to student proficiency. Beginners focus on syntax, control structures, loops, and simple algorithms. Intermediate learners develop modular functions, classes, data manipulation techniques, and problem-solving efficiency. Advanced learners explore advanced algorithms, performance optimisation, API integration, and project-based solutions. Every session includes reasoning guidance, practical exercises, and clear explanations to ensure understanding and skill mastery.
Beyond coding skills, programming lessons foster analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and systematic problem-solving. Students develop patience, creativity, and resilience as they tackle increasingly complex tasks.
