About Nicola
I bring a wealth of experience from working across mainstream, SEN and SEMH classrooms, supporting pupils with a wide range of needs and learning styles. My teaching has shown me that every child, regardless of the challenges they face, is capable of achieving great things with the right guidance and encouragement. I am passionate about helping pupils recognise their strengths and build both academic skills and self-belief. Alongside my classroom experience, I hold a Master’s degree in Education, which underpins my practice with strong research-informed strategies and a deep understanding of effective teaching and learning.

I take a calm, supportive approach to tutoring, particularly suited to pupils who feel anxious or overwhelmed when standard mainstream lessons have not suited their learning style. I understand that confidence and learning go hand in hand, so my sessions focus on creating a safe space where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Lessons are carefully tailored to each child’s needs, breaking concepts into manageable steps and revisiting gaps in understanding. Alongside building strong subject knowledge, I prioritise developing resilience and self-belief. My aim is not only to improve grades, but to help pupils feel capable, independent and more confident in their learning.
