About Aviwe
As a student, I have always been passionate about psychology. I was elected as the first vice-president of the psychology society at the University. I was active in other co-curricular activities such as mentoring and volunteer work. I also excelled academically thus, I received an invite to be an honorary member of the golden key society, which invites academically excelling students. I was also selected in my honours group to go on the Phelophepha train as a counselling intern. Although it was only for 2 weeks, I gained a lot of insisght and that experience in conducting workshops and counselling I have 2 years’ experience at the Nelson Mandela University as a research assistant and lecturer assistant, this experience has equipped me with good presentation skills, good writing skills, research skills and excellent organisational skills. I have received the NRF-Nuffic scholarship and I am currently doing a joint PHD degree with Nelson Mandela University and Vrije University in the Netherlands.
