A Character Reference from a Former Teacher of Mine who Knows Me Very Well:
I have known Jack for 2 years as his Psychology teacher. Jack has completed the two-year course of Edexcel Psychology. Jack is a hard-working individual who has an in-depth knowledge of Psychology and has a great interest in researching and finding out more about the subject so that he can apply it to a range of everyday settings. Jack’s ability to explain key concepts to others show that he has the potential of becoming an excellent teacher if this is what he chooses to do.
Jack’s attention to detail makes him well placed to explain the syllabus in detail but also the exam skills needed to complete the exam to a high level. Jack received the student of the year award last year for his progress and determination in the first year of his course, out of 372 first year students, showing his ability and determination to succeed.
Jack is personable and works well within his class being both friendly and conscientious. He also shows concern for others and naturally tries to help them if they are struggling both academically and personally.
Jack’s personal qualities, academic prowess and enthusiasm make him well placed to be able to offer help to others who are studying A-level Psychology.

All students learn differently and as an open-minded student myself, I find it easy to adapt my teaching to the needs of my students.
I am able to teach:
• verbally - using words/writing to help convey concepts/ideas in an easy-to-understand way
• visually - using pictures, diagrams, colours, mind-maps etc. to help visualise concepts for more students who learn more visually
• logically - using analogies to to teach and demonstrate how concepts can be applied to life as expanding your understanding of ideas is an excellent way to solidify your knowledge
• physically/kinaesthetically - acting out the ideas/concepts isn’t a conventional learning style but can be very effective for students who require it; whilst this is quite rare, it can be valuable to some students’ learning
• I love everything Psychology and love to teach and inspire young people to learn and be curious about what it means to be human
• I have excellent organisation and preparation skills so can be flexible with times/places and learning styles/teaching techniques
• I will do all I can do in order to meet your preferences and requests
• Dates, times and lessons are all planned and provided to you in advance to provide ultimate flexibility and adaptability
• You can be assured that I will be adaptable to your needs and will personalise teaching material and techniques to best suit you and your learning style
• Learning, to me, isn’t only about getting grades in order to get a job, this is a lovely bonus to truly understanding the nature of what you are learning, so whilst I will provide all necessary tools to achieve excellent grades, I will also do my utmost to inspire and empower my students to learn joyfully and curiously and to fall in love with learning for life
• In the first free lesson, I would ordinarily ask you to provide me with current work from your Psychology class where applicable in order to gain an understanding of where you are in your studies so far
• Should you have no work to provide then do not worry at all, a general chat and a conversation about your studies would suffice and we could then begin planning and setting realistic goals for progression in your studies
• Consistent Progress Reports Provided
