About Darrel
I help people turn complex or crowded thoughts into communication that other people can follow.
As Co-Founder of NLX, my work involves analysing difficult organisational problems, identifying the central message and presenting conclusions clearly to leaders. I have also published organisational-performance thinking through theHRDIRECTOR and am developing a keynote on performance under pressure and cognitive difference.
My earlier work as a DVSA driving examiner required calm, precise communication and consistent judgement in high-pressure situations. I also hold an EDI role in a live sporting environment and am currently completing an ILM Level 6 Diploma in Leadership and Management.
I am autistic and have ADHD, so I understand how knowing a subject well does not automatically make it easy to sequence, shorten or deliver. I will help you make the message clearer without flattening your personality or making you sound scripted.
My feedback is honest, specific and supportive. We will identify what is working, what is getting in the way and what to practise next.

These sessions are built around a real presentation, talk, interview, meeting contribution or speaking challenge.
We can work from an early idea, an existing slide deck or a nearly finished presentation. The focus is not generic confidence-building. It is improving the communication itself so confidence has something solid to rest on.
Depending on your needs, we may work on:
• identifying the one message the audience must remember
• cutting material that competes with that message
• creating a clear beginning, middle and end
• improving slide order and speaker notes
• explaining technical or complex information simply
• pacing, timing and transitions
• preparing for questions
• practising delivery and receiving direct feedback
You will leave with specific changes and a clear practice priority.
The free 30-minute conversation is for understanding the presentation, audience, deadline and main difficulty. Detailed slide review, rewriting and rehearsal take place during paid sessions.

I have known Darrel for many years personally and professionally and his passion for supporting neurodivergent people has always been evident
His enthusiasm, knowledge, and genuine commitment to helping others make a real difference.
I have attended several of Darrels sessions and they have been worth every penny. Not only have they had a significant impact on me personally but they have also helped me develop my understanding of AI, enabling me to work more effectively and confidently in my professional role
What sets Darrel apart is his warm, supportive and non judgmental approach. He creates a comfortable environment where people feel understood, valued and empowered to learn and grow
Whether you’re struggling to manage your neurodivergence or trying to navigate the rapidly evolving world of AI, Darrel has a unique ability to make complex topics accessible and practical
He also provides outstanding value for money, delivering high quality support, insight and guidance.
I cannot recommend Darrel highly enough. If you’re considering working with him, give him a try, you won’t be disappointedDarrel has a natural ability to help people look at situations differently and get beyond the surface of a problem.
His approach isn’t about telling someone what they should do or giving them all the answers. Instead, he asks the right questions, challenges assumptions and helps people work through situations for themselves, building confidence in their own decisions along the way.
One of his real strengths is recognising that everyone thinks, communicates and processes information differently. He adapts his approach to the individual rather than expecting the individual to adapt to him, creating an environment that feels supportive, patient and non-judgemental.
He is particularly good at taking situations that feel complicated or overwhelming and breaking them down into something clearer and more manageable. Importantly, he is also willing to challenge someone when needed rather than simply telling them what they want to hear.
I would highly recommend Darrel to anyone looking for an approachable and thoughtful coach who will genuinely listen, challenge their thinking and help them find a way forward that works for them.Darrel is a dedicated and highly organised History teacher who is passionate about helping students achieve their full potential. His lessons are carefully planned, well-structured, and tailored to each student's needs, making even challenging historical topics clear and engaging.
Students and parents particularly value his detailed feedback, which helps identify strengths, address areas for improvement, and build confidence for exams. With his patient approach and thorough preparation, Darrel creates a supportive learning environment where students can make consistent progress and develop a deeper understanding of History.I'm finding my sessions with Darrel insightful and extremely helpful. He has a great toolkit of strategies and suggestions that can help with situations and challenges that I face as someone neurodiverse. Darrel communicates with empathy and care, and I find it easy to be open and vulnerable with him. Highly recommend Darrel!
