About Simon
I qualified as an English teacher in 1997 and have worked non-stop since, which means that I've taught over 20,000 hours of teaching to thousands of students. I've worked both in companies and language schools. My specialisations and passions are exam English and business English.

I can teach English language students at all levels but I specialise in: (1) helping people pass exams such as B2 First (FCE), C1 Advanced (CAE) and IELTS. I have huge knowledge of all of these exams. AND (2) working with business people to improve their English for work purposes. I have helped company presidents, directors and other staff speak confidently in business situations. I like making English fun and interesting. I started teaching in 1997 so I know lots of different ways of improving a student's weaknesses. I give exam students the knowledge to pass their test and I give business people the confidence to speak English at work.

Perfect! Mr Jones is accessible, alert, and easy to speak to tutor. I lack of confidence when I speak to new people in English, first lesson felt relaxed and was satisfied with myself, usually I struggle to remember on time the words I want to use when speaking.
- Alina is motivated, hard-working and already at a very high level in English. With a little focus on IELTS-related subjects, I am sure she'll achieve her language goals.Simon's response :
Perfect! Simon is knowledgeable, patient, compassionate, helpful, and friendly.
- Evzen is a hard-working, motivated student. What he really needs to work on is his spelling.Simon's response :

I know that my husband works hard every day to prepare great lessons for his students.
Simon is a great teacher. I worked with him for over 8 years and his skill and professionalism never failed to impress. His students consistently gave great feedback about his lessons.
I worked alongside Simon for seven years at an international language school here in Nottingham, England - as a teacher colleague, then as his Director of Studies.
I know Simon to be a very experienced, knowledgeable and efficient exam preparation teacher. He has a great depth of knowledge of the IELTS exams and of the Cambridge EFL exam suite, and a considerable body of tried and trusted materials that he has built up over the years. He has been an examiner and exam team leader for many years. He is patient, conscientious, reliable and honest.
Simon is a focused and dedicated teacher who prepares and delivers lessons designed for the individuals he is coaching. Simon is highly respected by both students and teaching colleagues alike, and always in demand for exam preparation classes. I have specifically referred private students to Simon for exam preparation knowing that they were getting the best professional for the job.
Simon has a huge smile - when you can get him to crack one!View more recommendations
