About Josh
Hi, I’m Josh.
I started learning guitar when I was 15 and was immediately captivated. I went on to study at Leeds Conservatoire and have recently gradated with a degree in Jazz Guitar.
I’ve played in many bands over the years, across a range of genres from indie-rock to jazz to blues and soul. I love sharing my passion for music and helping others to gain confidence in their own abilities.

There’s so much information on social media that it’s hard to know how to approach your practice for the best. My classes will guide through the best techniques and keep you on track while making sure the main focus is on having fun and learning the songs you want to learn.
Playing the things you want to play is the most rewarding and fun way to practice and improve. After only a few lessons you’ll be adding to a bank of songs you can play by yourself and with other musicians, letting you share your music with others and even join a band!
I also offer beginners classes in Jazz guitar specifically. These can be tailored to your interests, whether that be chords and standards, or diving deeper into music theory and history. I can make this often-daunting style much more accessible by focussing on what you really need to do to improve.
Lessons can be 30 minutes to an hour and will be tailored to your long-term and short-term goals.

Excellent! Josh was clear and knowledgeable in his teaching. Although I have decided not to continue it is for various reasons, mainly age, and not a reflection of Josh's teaching style.
Perfect! My lesson with Josh was really enjoyable. As a novice player he helped me improve my chords and developed my strumming technique. He is patient and professional and gave some really helpful guidance, helping me learn a new song from scratch in our hour session and gave me tips to practice on my own. Would definitely reccomend for all levels of tuition. Looking forward to my next lesson.
