About Elli

My name is Elli, and I’m a native Greek speaker from Thessaloniki.
I hold a degree in History and Archaeology, specializing in Archaeology and the History of Art, from the Department of History & Archaeology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Additionally, I earned a second Bachelor's degree in Primary Education from the same university. Two years ago, I completed my Master’s in Classics at the University of Birmingham.
My experience includes working as a Primary School Teacher in Thessaloniki. Currently, I teach Modern Greek at a Greek School in Birmingham, where I work with primary and secondary students, as well as preparing GCSE students for their exams. I have been offering private lessons in Modern Greek, Ancient Greek, Greek Literature, and History since 2015.
I genuinely enjoy working with both children and adults, and I tailor my teaching methods to meet each student’s unique needs. My goal is to create a warm, supportive learning environment that encourages and inspires my students.
I offer lessons both online and face-to-face and I always provide my students with well-organized materials, including custom-made vocabulary lists and grammar notes. My lessons often incorporate educational games, readings from Greek literature, and Greek films, all selected based on what my students enjoy and prefer.
