My name is Eddie, I have spend nearly half of my life in South East Asia. I have a fun, friendly and laid back teaching approach. I enjoy making jokes and think I am naturally good at helping students feel comfortable and at ease in lesson.
I specialise in tailoring my lessons to the needs of the student, and try to do so by usually using the classic technique of teaching the topic/target language - practising this through some controlled practices and then using the target language which has been taught and practised in a freer practice using realistic situations - during this I will note down any errors which we will correct together and practice further if needed.
I can teach the technicalities of English grammar, or we can practice through normal conversation and error correction. For more advanced students I enjoy teaching using case studies, listening to audio tapes, reading and analysing texts/articles/news.
I worked with a globally recognised language school for over a year teaching people between the ages of 16 and 80!
I have also worked at a number of other smaller/more local languages schools designing syllabuses and managing small teams of teachers, as well as teaching classes throughout.
I still keep in touch with many of my old students who I now consider friends of mine. They still come to me for help with English and I am still delighted to help them.
I am CELTA qualified and spend four years at university studying outdoor adventure coaching.

I used to study with Edward. He was a great tutor with many tricks to learn English easier. He also was very attentive to his students and always made sure that I learnt everything correctly. Moreover, it was fun to study with him because of his fun way of teaching that made the class very exciting.
During my time working with Edward he always displayed excellent attention to the needs of the students, and provided engaging, worthwhile lessons. I have no hesitation recommending Edward as a tutor across all age ranges and abilities.
