I offer proof-reading of coursework to RIBA Part 3 students. This is usually done via emails and online meetings, however I am happy to meet in person.
The coursework for Part 3 typically includes a personal statement / career appraisal, a CV and a project-based case study. Typically, students send over a draft of their coursework for a standard spelling, grammar and sense check. On top of this, I am happy to review any Part 3 topics with you, such as appointments, contracts, office structure and site events.
My feedback on coursework is colour-coded into various sections, tailored to you. This typically includes suggestions of diagrams and additional information; queries and sense checks; and highlighting sections which could be reduced to fit into your word-count.
I am a qualified Architect with seven years of experience in tutoring across those studying Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3.

In recent years I have been proof-reading RIBA Part 3 coursework and providing extra advice on top of your course content.
I have tutored those studying Part 3 at London Met, Westminster, RIBA North West and the Bartlett, and am familiar with the structure and content of other institutions.
I have experience in working in both large and small practices, over a range of typologies. This gives me a broad understanding of various opportunities and constraints in the design and construction process,

I reached out to Emma when I was asked to re-submit my Case Study for my Part 3 exam. She was invaluable support throughout the re-submission process. Having tutored many Part 3 students, Emma had a good grasp of what would be expected by the examiners and gave me confidence going into the exam the second time round. If I had any questions during our sessions, Emma would always follow with reference texts by email and has a great eye for catching out grammatical errors! I would definitely recommend Emma if you are in need of Part 3 support!
Emma has been enormously helpful for me in writing ARB/RIBA part 3 case study. As a non-native English speaker, I found her proofreading so valuable to check the structure of my writing or grammatical errors which is one of the most challenging parts for me in writing in foreign language...
Also, I should note that she has been very organised in providing comments. Her feedbacks has been always easy to understand as she used different colours to differentiate simple errors to additions required to complete a sentence or a paragraph as an example. Also, she often kindly noted her thoughts when made comments which might be one of the biggest differences from what we can expect from commercial proofreading company's services!!
Therefore, I would like to highly recommend Emma who needs to get proofreading and if there are people especially in architectural fields!
Emma really helped me out with my part 3 case study. She aided me in how to write clearly and confidently. I highly recommend her.
Emma was a great tutor and helped me achieve my part 3 qualification with a distinction. She was able to share a wealth of knowledge from her professional and educational experience and gave lots of helpful feedback on my work. Would 100% recommend!
I strongly recommend Emma. She proofread my part 3 case study. She was efficient, thorough and calm. The help was immeasurable as I was super busy working at the same time as studying. Jen x
