About Catherine
I am a qualified Fine Art teacher and practising artist with over 15 years’ experience in education. I hold a BA in Fine Arts and a Higher Diploma in Teaching Art and Design, and have taught Art extensively at GCSE and A-Level.
Art has always been a passion of mine, and I particularly enjoy helping people discover their own creativity and develop confidence in their abilities. I believe everyone can make progress in art with the right encouragement, guidance and practical techniques.
Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students of different ages, abilities and learning needs. I am experienced in supporting GCSE and A-Level students with ambitious academic goals, as well as learners who need additional encouragement and individual support.
I am patient, approachable and enthusiastic, and I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable experimenting, asking questions and developing their own artistic voice.
Whether you are working towards an excellent exam grade, developing a portfolio, improving your drawing or painting skills, or simply want to enjoy making art, I would be delighted to help you progress.

I am a qualified Art teacher with over 15 years’ experience, offering friendly, personalised one-to-one lessons tailored to each student’s goals, ability and interests.
For GCSE and A-Level students, I provide focused support with coursework, exam preparation, portfolio development, artist research and annotation, helping students develop ideas, refine techniques and work confidently towards higher grades. I have an excellent track record of student achievement, including a 100% C–A* pass rate across my GCSE and A-Level Art classes over the last decade.
I also welcome adults, beginners and hobby artists who simply want to enjoy being creative or improve their skills. Lessons can focus on drawing, watercolour, acrylic painting, colour theory, composition and developing your own individual artistic style.
My teaching approach is encouraging, patient and practical. I demonstrate techniques step by step while giving students the confidence and freedom to experiment and develop their own ideas. Lessons are adapted to the individual, whether you are preparing for an important exam, building a portfolio, returning to art after many years, or picking up a paintbrush for the first time.
Lessons are typically one hour and are available both in person and online.
