About Caroline
Hi! I'm Caroline, a qualified elementary teacher with a Master's degree in Reading Education and a genuine passion for helping children become confident, capable learners. I have experience teaching in the classroom and supporting children with literacy and reading development. I'm friendly, patient, and approachable, and I believe learning should feel encouraging rather than intimidating. I take the time to get to know each student and understand how they learn best, adapting my lessons to their individual needs and interests. I believe children learn best when they feel comfortable, supported, and confident in their abilities. As a qualified elementary teacher with a Master's in Reading Education, I use a patient, encouraging approach that is tailored to each child's individual needs, interests, and learning style. My lessons are interactive and engaging rather than simply working through worksheets. I use a combination of guided practice, discussion, reading activities, games, and targeted exercises to help children understand new concepts and build skills they can use independently. For reading, I can support children with phonics, vocabulary, reading fluency, comprehension, and developing a love of reading. A typical lesson begins with a quick check-in or review of previous learning, followed by focused instruction and guided practice. We then work together on activities designed around the child's goals before finishing with independent practice and a short recap of what we have learned. I have experience teaching and supporting elementary-aged children in the classroom and through literacy-focused roles, and I particularly enjoy helping children who may need a little extra encouragement or confidence in their learning. Lessons are intended primarily for children in elementary/primary school, approximately ages 4–12, who would benefit from additional support with reading, English, homework, or general academic skills. Whether a child needs help catching up, wants to strengthen existing skills, or simply needs a supportive learning environment, I aim to make every lesson productive, positive, and enjoyable.
