I adapt my teaching style to individual students and I encourage him or her to have a goal at mind - whether it is to pass a music exam, to become a part of an ensemble, or simply to be able to play their favourite music. I bring my enthusiasm into my teaching to make music-learning fun and enjoyable, and to build self confidence and self motivation to facilitate students’ progress. In the long term, my aim is to give students the tools by which they will become independent musicians.
I am a highly motivated and passionate musician and educator whose music education started at age four. I completed my Bachelor of Music Degree in June 2012 and my secondary school teacher training (PGCE and SCITT) in the Havering area in July 2016. As well as teaching, I perform as a soloist and work in group settings such as chamber ensembles, musical theatre bands, and larger ensembles.
I have six years experience in teaching children of primary and secondary school ages providing tuition in saxophone, clarinet, flute and piano. My exam board of choice is ABRSM and I also prepare young students for the Musical Aptitude Test (MAT) for admission into selected secondary schools.
