About Luis Filipe
My love for music developed very early when at the age of 6 I started to learn Piano as a pupil of Joel Canhão in the Conservatory of Music in Viseu, Portugal. During this time I have performed numerous recitals in Portugal (where I earned awards in regional and national competitions) and later, around Europe in countries like Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, and Luxembourg.
I also attended and participated in several Master Classes given by prominent figures of the music scene such as Jorge Martins, Luis Filipe Sá, Angelo Martingo, Madalena Soveral, Constantin Sandu, Marian Ribicki, Fiammetta Facchini, Grigory Sokolov, Daniel Blumenthal and others.
I have 15 years of experience teaching Piano to students from grade I to grade VIII.
I always try to have a fun and flexible approach to teaching without losing the rigor and I always incorporate Music Theory into lessons. With excellent subject knowledge and a good sense of humor, I am highly motivated and capable of stretching my pupils to their fullest potential.
