About Katie
My name is Kate and I have been a KS2 teacher for 11 years. During this time, I have been Assistant Headteacher and leader of English.
I love teaching and enjoy seeing that 'light bulb' moment when children understand something that they have previously struggled with.
My favourite subjects to teach are grammar and reading as I am an avid reader myself.
I aim to instil a love of learning and want the learning experience to be positive for everyone.

I offer exciting, engaging lessons which allow children to easily retain information.
I use a variety of online resources, paper based activities and practical, hands-on activities to fully engage children.
I know that children learn in different ways; therefore, I tailor my teaching style to the individual needs of the child.
I am passionate about English and I strive to instill this in the children I teach.
I offer SATs practise papers and can adequately prepare children for the tests by teaching essential exam techniques and prepare them for the types of questions that they may encounter.
