My approach to teaching is developmental and client-centered. This means that the flow, structure, content and pace of lessons are entirely dependent on the needs of each individual student.
The first lesson is free and the primary aim of the introductory lesson is for us to get to know each other. We will use this session to discuss your needs, scholarly areas of strength and areas you would like to improve in. We set targets and goals, discuss our expectations of the tutoring space and create an outline of what we would like to achieve in our time together.
After this initial assessment I use the information gathered to start planning and creating personalised lessons based on your needs. These are constantly adapted and changed as the process unfolds, and you develop and grow as a student of Psychology.
As an experienced lecturer I have a firm understanding of academic writing, essay structure, and formatting. In cases where students are struggling with essay writing I can offer additional support.
My primary focus is on assisting undergraduate students but post-graduate students who have specific needs relating to their research projects are also welcome to make contact. If your area of research is an area I specialise in, I would be willing to offer specifically tailored support to enable you to complete your research report, dissertation or thesis.
My approach is interactive, my process democratic, and my aim to facilitate a stimulating environment within which we can both explore, learn, challenge and engage critically with the fascinating subject of Psychology together!
PLEASE NOTE: I only take an extremely limited number of students at a time to enable me to give them each the individual and tailor-made tutoring support they need.
