I am a Biomedical Science graduate and have been teaching for over 4 years including teacher training. My teaching style is engaging, organised, enquiry-based and focuses around the students` needs.
My lessons are geared towards students who learn through visual aids and in depth explanations about topics, or those who need support with more complicated concepts. Students who want to learn new content ahead of curriculum taught in school, or who would like to review or revisit topics for examinations. I support students of all abilities and actively encourage them to learn and make progress. There's no limit to the amount of questions students have, and I would be more than happy to explain the same concepts several times in several different ways until the students is confident with their understanding.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science from the University of Sheffield. I have almost 4 years of experience teaching key stage 3 science as well as GCSE Biology and GCSE Chemistry. My most recent experience teaching year 11 GCSE Chemistry students was last academic year when all 20 of my students achieved grades 4-9 in their May examinations (new GCSE specification). I have received praise and acknowledgement from parents of students on how I've impacted their learning in a positive way and increased their interest in science.
I am experienced and confident with the subject knowledge and specifications (AQA and Edexcel) of both GCSE Biology and Chemistry, and would love to support students in these two subjects. I am very organised in my teaching & planning, and ensure I use exam questions as well as progress questions throughout lessons to ensure my students understand the topic before moving on.
My experience in teaching:
Over 4 years (including teacher training) overall
Postgraduate diploma in education & qualified teacher status
Teacher of Science: 1 year in Birmingham
Teacher of Science: 2+ years in Dubai (UAE)
I am a dedicated teacher who believes in empowering students to thrive through learning and discovering their potential. I am here to ensure students feel they have enough support to achieve what they an ambition for. I have a teaching qualification (PGCE and QTS) from the University of Sheffield and have been working in secondary schools as a science (Biology and Chemistry) teacher since September 2017.
My lessons include starter questions to gauge student's previous knowledge, visual descriptions to explain new content, and a lot questioning (a mix verbal, written tasks and past exam questions) to ensure understanding and progress.
I use the specification as guidance for gcse courses and ensure students cover all content required, and are challenged to achieve more than that they have previously.
Suha is incredibly dedicated to teaching and her students. She sees each student as an individual and is committed to helping them reach their full potential.
