About Georgia

I’m a qualified secondary science teacher with a First-Class degree in Zoology, a PGCE in Secondary Science and full QTS. I tutor Biology, Chemistry and Physics at KS3 and GCSE, as well as Biology at A-Level. Lessons are available both online and in person.

I have several years of experience teaching in mainstream and specialist secondary education. I have taught across the major exam boards and supported students with a wide range of starting points—from high-achieving learners aiming for the top grades to students who find science challenging or have lost confidence in the subject.

I also have extensive experience supporting students with SEND, anxiety, difficulties with focus and slower processing speeds. I create a calm, encouraging environment in which students feel comfortable asking questions, attempting unfamiliar problems and making mistakes as part of learning.

Alongside subject knowledge, I help students develop exam technique, revision skills and greater independence. My aim is for students not only to improve their grades, but also to understand how they learn and feel more confident approaching science.

Every student begins from a different starting point, so my lessons are never based on a one-size-fits-all programme. I take time to understand the student’s current attainment, confidence, learning needs, exam board and longer-term goals. I then identify gaps in their knowledge and skills and create a personalised long-term learning plan designed to help them make steady, measurable progress towards those goals.

Each lesson forms part of this wider plan rather than being taught in isolation. I regularly review the student’s progress and adapt future lessons according to what they have mastered, what still needs strengthening and any new difficulties that arise at school. This provides clear direction while remaining flexible enough to respond to the individual student.

Lessons may include clear explanations of challenging concepts, retrieval practice, modelled examples, guided questions and independent exam practice. I break difficult ideas into manageable stages and adapt my explanations, pace and level of challenge until they are right for the learner. Questions gradually increase in difficulty, helping students build confidence without removing appropriate challenge.

For GCSE and A-Level students, lessons are closely linked to their exam board, specification, current working grade and target grade. We work on applying knowledge, completing calculations, interpreting command words and constructing answers that meet the requirements of the mark scheme. I also teach practical revision and study strategies that students can use independently between lessons.

Online lessons are interactive and may include shared diagrams, quizzes, annotated exam questions and digital whiteboards. Targeted practice can be provided between sessions, and progress is reviewed regularly so that students and parents understand what has improved, what we are currently working towards and the next steps needed to reach the student’s goals.

I also offer reduced-price small-group online GCSE Science tuition. These sessions combine structured revision, retrieval practice, clear teaching and exam-question support in a friendly group of students following a similar course and working at a similar level. Group sizes are kept small so that every student can participate and receive feedback. Please contact me with the student’s year group, exam board, tier and current working grade to register interest.

Lessons can be help on Superprof or Teams.
