About Sian
I have worked in the education sector for over 15 years in a variety of roles; including as a Science Technician, Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant and Tutor. In 2019 I qualified as a teacher and I now work as a Science Teacher for a local secondary school. In addition to this I have also recently just achieved a MSc in Applied Wildlife and Conservation. I believe that the natural enthusiasm that I have for learning is of benefit to pupils and encourages questions about Science and the world around them. I am also confident that I can link different aspects of the Science curriculum to provide pupils with the key skills and knowledge that they need for the next stage of their education and careers.

I have been a Teacher of Science for a number of years so I have experience of teaching the KS3 and KS4 Science curriculum. I have also prepared students for GCSE exams for different exam boards such as AQA and Edexcel. The first lesson will just be an informal meeting online to establish what students are hoping to achieve from their lessons, topic areas they would like to focus on and also to discuss any additional needs that they have. I will then draw up a plan of suggested lessons/topics to focus on. During lessons I will share a range of resources with students to support them with their learning. I will also provide tasks for students to complete and provide individual feedback on each task. For KS4 pupils looking to prepare for their GCSE exams I can provide exam style questions and mark them using the mark scheme provided by the exam boards as well as providing feedback for improvement. I will also address common misconceptions that students sometimes have on different topics.
