My teaching style depends on the strengths, weaknesses and needs of my students. After discussion with my students we set a plan of goals to be achieved and we try to focus on them, although they may be changed or modified during the tuition period. I like to use different material that interests my students in order to teach them. This could be literature (e.g. Greek poems), comix, magazines, newspapers, internet articles, tv series, music etc. My students can acquire the knowledge with a fun and entertaining way that we can decide and build the lesson on this way of teaching.
I am a qualified teacher of Greek language and literature with a background in psychology and pedagogy, training in special education and an MSc degree in Inclusive Education from the University of Edinburgh. I was born and raised in Greece and I am a native speaker. I have worked with adults and children with and without additional needs and I specialise in using ICT in learning. I teach modern Greek Language and Literature, Ancient Greek, Latin and Homer’s Odyssey. I deliver lessons of Greek both to those who already know some Greek and those who would like to explore a whole new world for themselves and for the pleasure of the journey and not only the destination.
I met Elli last year as I wanted to study literature and poetry. Not only her passion, knowledge and the integrity of her character but also her alternative methodogy (poems that have been transferred in songs) helped me to improve my reading skills as well as my writing skills. I strongly recommend Elli to somebody who wants to explore the literature and learn Greek in a fun way!
Ellie has a lot of skills. Her way of teaching makes the lesson Amazing and interesting!
