About Hector
I’m a qualified primary teacher with a passion for music, languages and helping others learn. Alongside teaching in school, I have experience teaching music to pupils of different ages and abilities, and I enjoy making lessons practical, encouraging and enjoyable.
I offer lessons in Scottish Gaelic, guitar and ukulele, whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to develop your existing skills. My approach is relaxed and supportive, with lessons tailored to your goals, interests and pace of learning.
For guitar and ukulele, I can help you develop chords, strumming, songs, technique and musical confidence. For Gaelic, I can support beginners through vocabulary, pronunciation, conversation and building confidence using the language.
Whether you’re learning for fun, developing a new skill or working towards a particular goal, I’ll help you make steady progress while enjoying the process.

Whether you are picking up the guitar or ukulele for the first time, or already know a few chords, my lessons are friendly, practical and tailored to each learner.
I teach beginner guitar and ukulele, focusing on making music enjoyable from the very first lesson. We can learn real songs, useful chords, strumming patterns, rhythm and simple music theory, while building confidence and developing your musical skills.
As a qualified primary teacher, I have experience teaching pupils of different ages, abilities and learning styles. I have also taught music across the whole school, giving me experience making musical concepts accessible, engaging and enjoyable for everyone.
Lessons can be adapted for children, teenagers or adults, depending on your interests and goals. Whether you want to learn songs as a hobby, accompany yourself while singing, or simply try something new.
No previous musical experience is required — just bring your instrument and a willingness to have a go!

Hector is a brilliant Gaelic tutor. He’s friendly, patient and makes learning Gaelic feel much less intimidating. I’ve really enjoyed the lessons and feel like I’m making genuine progress. He’s also great at explaining things when you get stuck. Would definitely recommend him!
I discovered Hector’s Gaelic lessons through Superprof and decided to give them a try, and I’m really glad I did. The lessons have been very helpful and have given me a much better understanding of the language, particularly with pronunciation and building my confidence in speaking Gaelic. Hector is friendly, patient and explains things clearly, making the lessons enjoyable and easy to follow. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to learn or improve their Gaelic.
Really helped me grow in my confidence with Gaelic! 100% recommend.
