About Jamie
I am a dedicated and professional tutor from Geneva, Switzerland, with a British background. Growing up in the French-speaking part of Switzerland has given me a strong connection to the French language and culture, while my British background has provided me with an international outlook and excellent communication skills. This allows me to work confidently with students from a wide range of backgrounds and learning needs.
I hold a degree in Physical Education and Youth Sport, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), and a Master’s in Education. My academic background has given me a strong understanding of effective teaching methods, student development, and how to help learners achieve their full potential.
Professionally, I have worked as a class teacher within primary schools and as a PE teacher in multiple schools, including bilingual schools where I taught French alongside sport. I also have experience leading French lessons for both primary and secondary students, helping learners develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. In addition, I have coached adults outside of school, which has strengthened my ability to adapt my teaching style for different ages and abilities.
With experience teaching children, teenagers, and adults, I understand that every learner is different. My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, whether they are complete beginners, preparing for exams, or looking to improve fluency and confidence. I focus on creating engaging, structured, and supportive lessons where students feel comfortable to learn and progress.

Having taught learners of all ages, from young children to adults, one of my greatest strengths as a teacher is my ability to adapt each lesson and teaching method to suit the individual needs of every student. I understand that no two learners are the same, which is why I tailor every session to help each student progress with confidence.
