About Jamie
Hi, my name's Jamie, and I am a Level 3 TEFL-qualified tutor with years of experience teaching English to all ages and abilities, from A1 beginners to C3 proficient speakers. I have taught, both as a class instructor and as a one-on-one tutor, to pupils of all ages. Now, being older myself, I would prefer to teach older adults, from those aged 30 and above, at any level or ability. My lessons are primarily conversational, as from my own experience of learning a language, the best approach is to converse naturally with native speakers. I would also tailor my lessons to the students' needs and interests. The most important thing, though, is that the lessons are tailored to the student's needs and interests. Lessons can be as formal or informal as the student desires, but they should be fun. In summary, wherever my student wants to go and at whatever pace they prefer, I will happily accommodate them. Answering any questions they may have on vocabulary and grammar, and all the while encouraging them to enjoy and immerse themselves in the English language.

From my own experience living abroad and trying to learn a new language, I have found that the best way to learn is to listen to and converse with native speakers. So it is natural that conversation is the basis of my teaching method. In this respect, I see myself as a guide rather than a teacher. Wherever my student wants to go and at whatever pace they want to travel, I will happily accommodate them. Happily answering any questions they may have on vocabulary and grammar, and all the while encouraging them to enjoy and immerse themselves in the English language. This approach to teaching has evolved over the years I have taught, both as a teacher of classes and as a one-on-one tutor, to pupils of all ages. Now, being older myself, I would prefer to teach older adults of any level, as I have taught everyone from A1 beginners to C3 proficient students. Lesson times would range from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the student's wishes.
