About Maryam
I have been tutoring since I was in sixth form and I have been teaching for eight years at various Secondary Schools in Leicestershire. I currently teach in a sixth form.
I studied Secondary Science Education with a Chemistry specialism at Nottingham Trent University as this degree was specific to Science teaching. I teach both Combined and Triple Science, and A-Level Chemistry.

For Science, I use a range of techniques; including PowerPoints, practical simulations and real-life examples to teach the content. For both subjects, exam questions are essential to assess and apply knowledge.
As a qualified teacher, I have developed my resources over a number of years, as well as access to many resources that non-teachers do not have. I have an extensive knowledge of the exam specifications for both GCSE Science and A-Level Chemistry.
I have been praised with my pedagogical approach to teaching, using different techniques each lesson to engage students with the learning and then adapting approaches suitable for students. I plan for sessions beforehand, but can also improvise within sessions if it is clear that the student is struggling or lacking prior knowledge.

Maryam is an amazing teacher. I love how she is so personable with the kids to get to know them and helps the children feel relaxed.
