An adult beginner, I began piano lessons with Rachel several years ago and have worked with her both in person and online. She is an enthusiastic teacher who always maintains that difficult balance of making lessons fun while keeping the learner on track in a clear and purposeful way. She is very aware of the distinct challenges facing adult beginners and is good at pinpointing what would help a student to make progress. Highly recommended!

Rachel has taught my daughter piano for a number of years.
She always looks forward to her lessons and Rachel is kind and supportive. She has made great progress. Rachel is committed and adaptable, which is important for fitting lessons around school and other interests.

As a complete novice with the Piano I needed a patient and tolerant teacher and Rachel was very good with this.
She showed me how to approach the Piano; how my hands should be positioned and even helped me realise how posture is.
I can now play with a lot more confidence and am steadily working my way up the grades.
Rachel doesn’t just ‘teach’, she also listens.

I was overjoyed to receive the great news on achieving a 'Merit' in Grade 1 Piano it's beyond belief due to being profoundly deaf. (I was in tears of joy). You are without doubt an excellent teacher; I am truly grateful for your patience, I appreciate you believing in me. Being able to play beautiful tunes on the piano was always my dream. I was happy though shocked with the great news that I got a 'Merit' for Grade 2. As you were aware I was struggling to do the pieces, I want you to know that you have proven you have the ability to teach me, fantastic Rachel! Rachel is a wonderful piano teacher. I find that as well as being very knowledgeable, she is also very patient with me and I find myself constantly motivated after every lesson. Not only do I enjoy my lessons but what I find most helpful is that Rachel specifically focuses her attention on my weaknesses to improve them. She is organised and is able to pinpoint areas which I need to work on. I believe I am really fortunate to have Rachel as my piano teacher and I will always highly recommend her.

As a sixty year old beginner with a desire to learn, Rachel has taught and guided me with great patience and encouragement. I thoroughly recommend her to other students.

Rachel is a very friendly and approachable lady,she teaches my 2 children piano lessons. She has great patience and understanding but knows how to get her point across. She always shows great professionalism and is a wonderful teacher. She comes to my home to teach my kids and we always have a natter before the lessons.

Rachel is a kind and patient teacher and our 14 year old granddaughter always enjoys her violin lessons, and has made good progress in Rachel's care. In a recent Grade examination, Rachel was most supportive and encouraging, providing her with the necessary, and reassuring, piano accompaniment to her set pieces. Rachel has helped our granddaughters self confidence, and so enhanced her enjoyment of playing.

Rachel has been teaching piano to my two boys, ages 9 and 8, for just over a year now. They have improved tremendously in that time frame and have also enjoyed their time with her and the positive encouragement and reinforcement that she gives them. She has a wonderful manner with the children, combining solid teaching of the fundamentals of piano, with a caring and positive approach, instilling confidence at every stage. We are really pleased with the children's progress with Rachel.
