About Stephen
I’m an Irish-American pianist and composer originally from the US, but grew up in Northern Ireland/UK. Connected to a musical family, I took up piano at a young age and when I was in my early teens I earned a scholarship from leading concert pianist Richard Meyrick to study piano at residential courses at Tonbridge School, Kent, where I was taught primarily by concert pianist Veronika Illinskaya.
I earned a Bachelor of Music at City, St. George's, University of London, studying with concert pianists Ian Pace and Richard Uttley.
I have just completed my Master's degree at the Royal College of Music, London studying with concert pianist Kathron Sturrock and currently teach piano in London whilst simultaneously pursuing a composing career as a working film composer.

Offering piano lessons tailored to each student’s goals, whether passing grade exams, or just playing for pure enjoyment. Drawing on my training at the Royal College of Music, my many piano mentors and my ongoing work as a professional composer, I teach piano with an emphasis on technical mastery and creative musicianship to become a truly independent musician, combining solid technical foundations with a musical insight of 20 years of experience. Lessons are 1 hour duration held in the comfort of your own home.
