About Jerry
Ng Kwun Ho (Jerry Fryderyk) crafts a unique fusion of sound, merging classical norms with innovative contemporary practices. His compositions often venture into complex realms of extended bitonality and intricate rhythmic structures. In his latest work, Canton · Opera-nese · Miniature, he daringly combines Eastern melodies with Western harmonies. His piece Zenbrochene Diamanten investigates the potential for depicting musical structures and metaphors through innovative orchestral notation. His string trio Hong Kong · Romanza was premiered by the distinguished Tacent(i) ensemble at the 2023 International Compositional Institute of Thailand. Additionally, he is one of the highlighted composers in the 'Sonic–Visual Interplay' project led by the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble. Beyond these notable projects, he is passionate about creating Cantonese vocal and choral music that reflects the essence of Hong Kong's culture. He is a composer currently pursuing a Master of Music in music composition at the Royal Academy of Music with Dr Gary Carpenter.
