About Sofia
Hello! My name is Sofia and I am a recent A-level graduate who is currently pursuing a BSc in Biochemistry.
Whilst I was preparing for my A-level Spanish exam, I noticed there was a disparity in the amount of revision materials available for the 2 books I was studying, which is what prompted me to become a tutor so that I can not only share the resources I created over the years but also help foster student's engagement and understanding of the subject.
Having started learning Spanish less than 2 full years before sitting my GCSE exams and walking away with an 8 (A*) is a true testament to my engagement with the subject outside of lessons by finding joy in listening to Spanish music and books, which is exactly what I am to achieve with my students.
Outside of academics, I love learning languages in general. I currently speak 3 (English, Lithuanian and Spanish) and am learning 1 more on the side.

Having just finished my A-levels, I know exactly how daunting these last few years of school may seem, which is exactly why I'm here!
I am here to offer my support in students in Year 10-13 studying GCSE or A-level Spanish. I spent some time helping GCSE Spanish students whilst at Sixth Form so I have various resources ready.
I offer help with learning vocab (GCSE and A-level), speaking practise, essay practise and feedback (La Casa de Bernarda Alba and El Coronel No Tiene Quien Le Escriba only) and grammar.
I am a strong believer in active recall, which is why I like incorporate quick vocab/grammar checks at the start of each lesson in order to really ensure that the content from last lesson has been taken in and consolidated.
Allow me to help you tackle anything from basic grammar to writing an A*-worthy essay and let's embark on this journey of academic growth together!

My predicted grade at the end of AS level Spanish was a D; with Sofija’s help and expert tutoring I ended up getting predicted an A* and actually achieving an A at A level. Sofija was so informative, patient and kind to me when I couldn’t grasp the simplest of concepts.
