About Alistair
I am a passionate singing tutor with over 9 years of experience teaching students from schools, colleges, and working professionals. I focus on helping students develop their vocal skills, musical understanding, and confidence in performing. I believe that every student has a unique voice and the potential to achieve excellence with proper guidance and practice.
My lessons are student-centred, practical, and engaging. I teach vocal techniques including breath control, pitch, tone, and projection. I also incorporate music theory, rhythm, sight-reading, and performance skills such as expression and stage presence. I use real-life examples and interactive exercises to make learning singing both effective and enjoyable.
I adapt my teaching style according to the student’s level and goals. Beginners are nurtured with patience to develop strong foundations, while advanced learners are provided structured guidance to refine their skills, prepare for performances, and overcome challenges like stage anxiety or technical difficulties. I emphasise consistent practice, positive reinforcement, and measurable progress.
I aim to create a supportive and motivating environment where students feel confident exploring their voice, improving their skills, and enjoying the journey of music. My goal is to help students build technical mastery, artistic expression, and a lifelong passion for singing.

My teaching methodology for Singing focuses on building confidence, healthy vocal habits, and strong expression. I use real-life examples and case studies from real songs, recordings, and performances so students can clearly understand how vocal techniques work in practice. Empathy plays an important role in my teaching, as I understand that singing can feel personal and emotional. I follow a flexible teaching style, adjusting lessons to match the student’s voice, comfort level, and learning pace.
Clear communication ensures that instructions and feedback are easy to follow. With a problem-solving approach, I help students work through challenges such as pitch accuracy, breath control, and voice tension using simple and effective exercises. In addition to Singing, I teach supporting subjects like music basics, rhythm, ear training, vocal warm-ups, and performance confidence.
