About Clara
I am a fourth-year Edinburgh university student studying a Scottish MA in Religious Studies. I am extremely competent in Buddhism, New Religious Movements as well as theories of Religion. I am passionate about my topic and hope to go on to PhD level and eventually become a researcher and a lecturer on New Religious Movements. Ask me about UFO Religions :)
I have also taken A-Levels in Classical Civilisations, focusing mainly on Greek Art, History and literature. I also have a broad knowledge of Philosophy and Ethics

What IS religion? This is a topic that many people struggle to understand. Is nationalism a religion? Is Buddhism a religion?
Understanding definitions of 'Religion', and the common features that they exhibit helps people to understand all religions, look for linking concepts and empathise with communities that they have never engaged with. This is the first thing I will discuss with students.
Depending on the level of study, my lessons can include exam technique, essay writing and the general teaching of the content of religious studies in courses, should you need extra help and explanation on any concepts. I can also assign and mark homework tasks.
My area of interest is in New Religious Movements. Whilst I am well studied in the world religions, should you be looking to learn something more unique or expand your ideas, I can also instruct in Religions such as Paganism (Hellenistic, Wicca), UFO Religions, Excotericism and more.
