About Deborah

I am a retired college English professor with thirty-five plus years of instructing academic and professional writing. Having taught a diversity of traditional and nontraditional students, my philosophy is everyone can master correct writing with two-hundred percent effort and quality instruction.

About the lesson

My teaching approach in writing instruction is to first diagnose students' weaknesses and strengths and then provide quality instruction needed to move them from "where they are to where they need to be" for mastery. Enhancing critical thinking is necessary.

Deborah is a great colleague and friend. I first met her at Atlanta
Metropolitan State University where we both taught some of the same courses. She was and still is very
helpful to me. She always makes herself available for questions that I have or visits we make to
compare notes about our careers. She has always been quite personable during every meeting we have
had and telephone conversations. She is very knowledgeable in her field of English
Rhetoric and Composition and this has made her quite flexible and able to teach practically anywhere
that life leads her. I strongly recommend her as a teacher of English
