About Rikki

Students in architecture studios or professional offices often feel overwhelmed by the complexities of BIM software, which is where I step in to guide you through the process. Since earning my BS Architectural Technology from the University of Texas at Austin, I have spent 12 years refining how I explain these technical concepts to individuals. Helping you gain confidence in your technical abilities remains the most rewarding part of my day. Having taught countless students over the years, I prioritize deep understanding over simple memorization to ensure that what we cover actually sticks long after the session concludes.

About the lesson

Starting mid-thought, we might look at how your family parameters interact with existing project templates to see where the data flow breaks down. Moving into the technical side, I walk you through exporting to IFC and DWG formats while explaining the nuances of material takeoffs and MEP systems.

We also spend time troubleshooting curtain walls, levels, grids, and complex annotation requirements until your sheets and viewports look exactly like a real studio output. Because I maintain 7 distinct focus areas for my curriculum, you receive specific instruction on worksharing that mirrors the realities of professional architecture practice. This methodical approach ensures you develop independent problem-solving skills rather than relying on me for every small fix.
