About Dian
Transitioning from 9 years in symphonic ensembles to full-time teaching became my primary focus. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from Rice University Shepherd School. My daily work involves coaching students on INTENTION and precision.
I focus on spiccato and staccato bowing alongside intonation. Mastering classical repertoire requires deep attention to rhythm and timing. Posture and hold remain the foundation of my method.
I also incorporate ear training and scales and arpeggios. Outside of the studio I enjoy quiet moments of practice.

Starting with custom scale and etude sheets for each student, I adjust the material to clarify the path forward. Because I earned a Bachelor of Music at Rice University Shepherd School, I emphasize the harmonic connection between violin technique and broader musicality.
