I tutor at GCSE, IGCSE, A Level, IB, Pre-U, undergraduate and master's level.
I offer a professional, bespoke service tailored to the requirements of each individual student. There is no 'one size fits all' approach - my job is to find what works for you personally and helps you achieve your goals.
I use a variety of resources including articles, images, video, worksheets, text books, mindmaps, writing frames and past exam papers. I also have a bank of exam questions and comprehensions I have designed myself.
I can teach an entire IGCSE or A level history to home-educated students or adults. My preferred board is Cambridge.
I have been tutoring very successfully for 13 years. From 2015 to 2019 100% of students passed their exams, many with top grades. For Cambridge board I have 100% A and A* pass rate.
Often students know the course content but do not understand how to produce the analytical format required to get top grades. I teach with a focus on developing key skills and critical analysis. I hope to instil a love of the subject in my students as well as building confidence.

Janet has been tutoring for 10 years and she has been very successful. She has a great rapport with the students and has 99% + success rate, with her tutees scoring A-C at GCSE and A level. Many of her students each year score A grades.
Recent students have improved from grade D to grade A* (History), grade C to grade A (History and English) and grade F to grade B (History).
Janet is extremely well qualified, with 2 x degrees from Oxford University, plus an undergraduate degree and a teaching qualification. She keeps up to date with changes in the syllabus and regularly takes training courses to keep her own skills sharp.
When Janet sat her own A levels she achieved A* grades in History, English Literature and Religious Studies, plus A grade in Sociology. So she knows what it takes to get very high grades!
Oxford University recommended Janet for a national award whilst she was an undergraduate, when she achieved the highest-ever score in her yearly exams. She was also awarded a scholarship from Oxford University Theology Faculty at Doctoral Level. Her Doctoral research was funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and her doctoral thesis "The Woman who Claimed to be Christ' can be found in the British Library.
I know that Janet cares deeply about the success of every tutee and that she works extremely hard to help them every step of the way. She really is a super tutor!
