About Aarti
I am a Royal College of Art MFA graduate, artist, and lecturer whose practice explores the intersections of law, ecology, and cultural memory through sculpture, installation, and research-based art. My work has been developed through international residencies at Cycladic Arts (Greece), NEIRO Association for Expanding Arts (Prague), Art Quarter Budapest (Hungary), Plataforma de Arte Contemporáneo Art House Holland (The Netherlands), and the Berlin Art Institute (Germany). I have lectured and run workshops at leading institutions including the Royal College of Art, University College London, Yale-NUS College, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, and Wandsworth Council Arts Education Programme. These experiences have shaped my approach to teaching — rigorous yet deeply supportive, encouraging students to explore both critical thought and creative experimentation and is its strongest for examinable purposes as well as university admissions. My tutoring focuses on art school and university admissions, including portfolio preparation, personal statements, research and thesis development, and interview practice. I also offer mentoring for GCSE, A-level, and foundation students, as well as artists seeking to refine or restructure their portfolios. My goal is to help each student build an authentic and conceptually strong body of work that reflects their unique creative vision.

My teaching combines art-school rigour with an encouraging, process-based approach. Every student has a distinct creative language — I help you refine yours through guided experimentation, conceptual development and portfolio curation. Lessons are practical, conversational and tailored to your goals, whether that’s preparing for art school applications, GCSE/A-level coursework, or professional portfolio development. I can support you with portfolio building, written submissions and personal statements, artist statements, research and thesis development, and interview preparation. Together we’ll develop a clear, confident portfolio that reflects both your technical skill and creative vision. A typical session lasts 60–90 minutes, and many students choose multi-session mentorships for deeper feedback and ongoing progress. My teaching draws from my experience as a Royal College of Art MFA graduate and lecturer, with previous teaching at RCA, UCL, Yale-NUS College and NAFA. My lessons are suitable for: • Students applying to art and design schools (Foundation, BA, MA, MFA) • GCSE and A-level Art/Design students needing coursework or portfolio support • Artists developing conceptual, research-based, or interdisciplinary practice My sessions are friendly, supportive and intellectually rigorous — focused on helping you find your voice and present your strongest, most authentic work!
