About Lucy
I am a Masters student at the Royal Northern College of Music, studying with Katherine Lacy and Sergio Castelló López. I am a first-class BA Music graduate from Durham University. I am passionate about music and I started playing clarinet at the age of 10, achieving my grade 8 by the age of 15 and my ATCL Diploma by the age of 17. In 2019, I attended an Oxford University summer school to study music for a week, then went on to begin my undergraduate at Durham University in 2020. Throughout my time at Durham, I achieved high marks in my theoretical work, and also focused on performance. I was a member of their leading orchestras, and also achieved a place on the Royal Opera House's Orchestral Mentorship Scheme.
Additionally, I am a Creative Learning Benedetti Foundation Ambassador, where I take part in regular personal and professional development sessions, which include participating in four projects encompassing topics such as lesson planning, social media content creation, workshop delivery and developing performance skills, with the aim of inspiring, empowering and educating young people. This is something which I reflect within my teaching.
In addition to clarinet, I also play alto saxophone, achieving my grade 8 within 10 months of learning the instrument, and also achieved 100% in ABRSM Grade 5 theory. I have also completed a conducting and ensemble direction course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under Scott Wilson.

Whether you are just starting out as a beginner or are wanting to progress on your musical journey, I offer structured lessons to achieve your goals. I welcome any age and strive to get the best results no matter your age or ability level.
-As a first-class BA Music graduate from Durham University, I have years of experience performing and researching music. Additionally, I hold an ATCL Diploma in Clarinet Performance and have completed an orchestral mentorship scheme with the Royal Opera House.
